Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas everyone!!! I hope you all had a great weekend! Christmas was great this year!!!!

We kicked off Christmas eve by going to lunch with Riley's family. It was so much fun to have my mom and dad come with. After that we went to my grandma's house and had the usual party. It was so great having everyone together....minus katee and colton.

Christmas day was also a great day. We woke up and made the usual Christmas feast breakfast and then opened presents while we waited for everyone else to come over. As usual my mom and dad spoiled me with clothes, boots, make up, movies, heater blanket, jewelry, and REX! (I will do an intro to rex another time) My mom also pulled the biggest prank on me. She put all my presents into one box and the labeled it to: Lee From: cindy......this did stop me from snooping around. She is so tricky. After presents our family came over and we had lots of food. This was also the time when.....................COLTON CALLED!!! It was like a dream. This was the best Christmas present ever. It was so nice to hear from in. I loved talking to him! I can't wait until mothers day when I can talk to Katee and Colton. I love my missionaries. After that I went to Riley's to say hello to his family. I love them all so much! thanks for all the wonderful gifts. Riley got me a sweet kindle case, ear rings and a very pretty necklace! After that we went to my Grandmas and Grandpas and then to my oma and grandpas. Thanks for the wonderful day everyone.

I hope that we all took time to remember christ today. I am so thankful for everything that my heavenly father has given to me. I am so blessed. I have an amazing family! I am grateful for my brother and sister who are on missions. I missed them alot today but I wouldn't want them home no matter what. Thanks to all of you for being my friends! I love you all!!!!! Merry Christmas!!!

I am back to my happy self!!!!!!

So this past week was a very hard week. I know I have not been myself. I have been trying to make the best of things but it has been hard. Sometimes I didn't even feel like talking.  I just  wanted to cry. The change has just hit me harder than I thought it would. I miss my sister and brother so much. but today I feel so much better. I finally got a letter from my sister and brother. It is amazing how much they can help me when they are so far away. The simple words they write really help. I love when they tell me I am doing a good job and that I need to keep up the good work. They are amazing and I love them so much. Katee's letter was amazing. She is loving the mission!!!! I want to share Some of the letter that she wrote to me.

Sister ( kelsee),

How are you doing? I am doing SOOOOO good. The MTC is amazing! So spiritual! How is everything. I want you to know that I think about you often! And my companion already loves you. The elders here are also amazing as well. I have already learned so much!Thank you for your awesome letter and clothing diagram. I love it and you are amazing. What would I do without you? Sister, I want I want you to know that I am really doing good! I promise, but not a day goes by that I don't think of you or our family. I love this gospel. I love you! stay strong!

That is only some of the letter. Isn't she amazing! I am so thankful for my brother and sister. They bring so much happiness into my life. I love that they are serving missions. I look forward to the letters every week. did I mention that Katee is the senior companion? Heck Yeah! Thats my Girl!!!!!!!! I never thought that having my brother and sister gone for so long could bring me so much joy! Nothing could take this smile off my face! Love you Katee and Colton! Keep up the good work.

And then there was one.....

This week has been a challenge.I have felt happy, sad, proud, humbled, and honored.

Happy because my brother and sister are doing the lords work.

Sad Because I miss them so much. Leaving them at the MTC and Airport is the hardest thing I have ever done. I wish they could be with me and on a mission at the same time....but, I know they can't do that.

Proud Because my brother and sister are such great examples to me. They are so amazing. They are facing their fears.

Humbled because I could never do what they have done. They are amazing and I wish I could be just like them.

Honored because Heavenly Father gave me such amazing siblings.

When katee walked away from us at the MTC she had the light in her eyes. She was so calm. She knows what she is doing it right. She is such an amazing person and I am going to miss her so much. She is such a strength to me in my life.She has always been there for me and I know she will be there for me even when she is on her mission. She has such a strong belief in the gospel. She is one amazing lady. I love you Katee Lee. I will be keeping her blog updated with all her letters. Her blog is kateebalmforth@blogspot.com. Check it out.

Friday

* I finished my online class for nutrition!!!!

*Riley took me to dinner for my birthday. ( I have the best boyfriend)

*We went to the airport to see my cousin who came home from his mission. It was so great to see him. It was bitter sweet. I can't wait until the day when my bother and sister are doing the same thing.

* Came home and went to sleep!!!! ( I love sleep)

Saturday

* was my day of birth. It was also katee's day of birth.....weird I know.....

* Went shopping with my mom.

*Visited with my cousin. He had some great stories.

* Went to dinner with the family. minus colton due to the fact that he is in Africa.

* Came home and had cake! Thank you Calee, the cake was great!

* My birthday presents were great! thanks everyone.

Riley got me a kindle! I love it! Thanks Riley!

Sunday

* Katee talked in church. She did an amazing job. She rocked the house. I love you sister. You are going to be a great missionary.

*Watched Amazing Race..... I am sad Brooke and Clara didn't win but oh well.

Well here is to another great weekend. This week is going to be a good one. Katee is leaving on a mission and is going to do great things!!! Love you all!!!!

Yes today is my birthday. The big 21! CRAZY!!!

My Birthday came out of know where this year. It has been a crazy couple of months and I kind of forgot about it. I have been to busy to think about it....( usually i would have started a count down 5 months ago) But, not this year. In honor of My birthday ( and katee's) I would like to recap on somethings that happened in my 2oth year of life.

1. Beauty school drop out

2. Came back to the wonderful home ward.

3. Left the one and only ALL FINANCE AUTO

4. Got a job working for staffing express for the Salt lake valley hospitals doing registration.

5 Got a job working for Same day surgery at Primary Childrens doing registration.

6. One year ago from today I saw Riley woods.... yup we are still dating. :)

7. Sent my brother to South Africa. He is such a great missionary.

8. Finished my first semester of " real school"

9. For most of my 20th year of life I have had brown hair. There was a short time that it was lighter.

well that is all I can really think of for now..... What a great year it has been. I am Amazing!!! :)

Well I should probably go to bed now. I have a great day planned for me. I am thinking sleeping in, shopping, and having a great dinner!! Oh and Cake!!!!!! I can't forget the cake!!

p.s.s My cousin brad came home from his mission tonight. He has been serving in the Dominican Republic. It was so good to see him. I can only imagine how happy I am going to be when I see my brother and sister walking down the airport hallway. :) I LOVE IT!!!!

Today I am grateful for......

The Christmas shoes song...

Me, katee, and colton took singing lessons when we were younger.....Yeah I don't tell very many people that but, now you all know. One holiday season during our singing lesson years colton sang the christmas shoes song. It is such a great song and colton did a great job. Today when this song came on the radio me and Katee both had tears flowing and the song hadn't been playing for more that 15 seconds. This song and the memory of this song helped me realize that this year I am going to focus more on the true meaning of christmas instead of the lame stuff that doesn't matter after a couple of days. I know that I get upset when I see everyones families together for the holiday and mine is not, but I need to learn that I can't get upset because my brother and sister are out doing amazing things and our family is being blessed because of them. So from now on I am not going to get upset. I am going to be happy. I am going to do my best to also help serve those who are in need. Katee and Colton shouldn't be the only ones doing service. I am so grateful for their examples to me. I Love my cute missionaries. Thanks for setting such a great example to me and everyone else.

Today I am grateful for......

Chi hair products!!

I know because I hate Cometology school everything probably thinks I hate everything about doing hair....but this my friends is not true. I love doing hair. I know I am crazy but my brain understands my weird thinking and thats all that matters. :) Anyways...I don't know what I would do with out my chi blow dryer, chi straightener, and the other chi stuff that I have. LOVE IT!!!! okay so now on to a more serious thing I am grateful for is..........

yes I love all of the people in this picture, and I am grateful for all of them but I want to talk about a certain person that is in the picture.... if you will all notice the boy in the red jacket..yup I didn't know him but he came to my birthday party anyways.... Call it creepy...( at the time I did) but I am so happy he did! I am so grateful for Riley Woods. .... and here are the reason why.

1. I am grateful that he puts up with my changing mind... all the time, for example me saying " I think I am going away to school, I think i'm not going, I think I will go, okay I am going, Ehh I don't know anymore, okay I am just going to do it, and then finally.... okay, I AM NOT GOING!!

2. I am grateful for the fact that he would do anything for me.

3. I am grateful that he makes me laugh all the time.

4. I am so grateful that he holds the priesthood. Cool story about this.... One time I was so sick I couldn't move so Riley and Colton gave me a blessing because my dad wasn't home. I will never forget that. They are both amazing!

5. I am grateful that he tells me that I look cute all the time... ( for those of you that know me know that I love compliments.) :)

6.I am grateful that he supports me and all my big life goals and dream!

There is so much more but you get the point!!!!

I know this is cheesy but this is like my journal so I don't really care. Riley is the best! And I am pretty sure he is one of the only ones that reads my blog so he gets extra good points. I love you Riley Woods! Happy Thanksgiving Week everyone!

Today I am grateful for......

The house that I live in!

Tonight as I sit at home in my nice warm house ( the heater finally got fixed thanks to my dad) I can't help but be so grateful for the things I have been given. I love my house so much. My parents have made it such a great place. It is so nice and cozy! I love coming home to it everyday. I love that I have my own room and all of my own stuff. When I was reading a letter from colton the other day he said, " Kels you should see how the people here live! Their houses are like the shed in our backyard. " I am so happy I do not have to live like that. ( don't worry colton has a pretty nice apartment....so he says?) I would hate to live like that. We are all so blessed! Thanks mom and dad for the home you have made! You guys are the best!

I am thankful for.....

Well since it is so close to thanksgiving I want to do some posts this week about things that I am grateful for. So today I am thankful for.....

ELDER BALMFORTH.

This picture is a great memory I have of when we went to Cedar (knights inn) and Vegas! I will never forget how funny this trip was. yes it was a funny trip... and it was super fun!!!

This boy is amazing! He is the best brother and one of my best friends. I know I talked about him alot but he is to great not to talk about.

Reasons why I am thankful for my brother....

1. He knows me so well.

2. He is on a mission.

3. He loves the people of South Africa.

4 Even when he is far away he still tells me I am doing a good job with life.

5. He is always willing to help me or anyone else.

6. He loves everyone.

7. He is the funniest person I know... ( this is not a joke)

8. he is just amazing.

I love Keith Urban!! His new CD comes out TOMORROW and I can't wait!!!!!! :) This man is a great song writer and a great singer. I went to his concert last year and it was amazing!!!! I can't wait to have his new CD.

" I ain't missing you at all"

Okay this title is totally backwards but I really love the song! Today I was talking with my Mom, Brooke, and Riley. We got on the subject of colton being gone. I told them that I don't really miss him. My mom called me heartless ( which it totally understandable) and Brooke gave me a look like I was crazy. As I thought about it I came to this......

I MISS MY BROTHER SO MUCH!!!! ( maybe the title is a good fit?) I just don't let myself think that I do. Some days are harder than others. The other day I almost found myself running to his room because I had something to tell him. I probably think about him a million times during the day. To get over this I just tell myself that I am to busy to care. ( I am busy, but not busy enough to care.) People always say that it gets better but I think I will have to trick my brain for the next 2 years! I am loving Saturdays because We get to hear from him and now monday will be the GREAT day. So here Colton, this is for you brother......

I love you and I do miss you! South Africa needs you more than I do so keep up the good work. You are the best brother in the world! Thanks for Serving the lord and his children!

I know you all think I am crazy.... ( okay so maybe I am) ....But, I LOVE the Snow! And to be totally honest, I could really use some snow in my life right now! I Love everthing that the snow brings... such as: Coats, boots, hats, mittens, snowboarding, christmas, my birthday, phone call from my brother who I miss oh so very much, lights down town, snowmen, Snow ball fights, Shopping, and spending time with family and friends. See everyone look how great the snow is....okay So I know that the snow only brings half of this stuff but oh well. :) It makes me happy and thats all that matters.
As for other news, this weekend was great. low key and just what I needed. The last couple of weeks have been CRAZY so, it was nice to finally settle down and have a great weekend of nothing. I caught up on some much needed sleep, went to church, had some amazing homemade chicken noodle soup, and watched the Amazing Race! I love the weekends!!!This week is going to be crazy but I am so ready for it!!!!Bring it on! :) have a good night everyone! p.s. ( This sentance is coming from the fact that I miss my brother very much)A couple of posts ago I got rather mad at the people that kept wishing the time to go buy fast.. I would like to say that I am sorry and you may now wish aways! Thanks.

Well today was a very weird, sad, amazing, happy, day. As I woke up this morning I felt okay.... that is until I saw colton. I totally understand the reason for all of this but it is still hard. He is going to change the lives of so many people and I am so excited for him. I wouldn't want it any other way.. When we got to the airport another Elder came up and started talking to colton. they soon found out that they are going to the same mission! They were both so excited to be on the same flight! I was so happy that colton wouldn't have to ride the long airplane ride by himself. As we said Goodbye it really got hard to keep the tears from coming. I am sure the people around us thought we were nuts! When Colton and Elder Huston walked off they both had tears in their eyes and BIG smiles on their faces. I am so proud of my brother. I love him so much and he is one of my best friends. I know that he is going to do amazing things. I am so thankful for this gospel! It has changed my life. In the last month I have gained an even stronger testimony of the gospel and of missionary work! I am so thankful for my heavenly Father and I know that he will be watching over my little brother everyday! The next couple of weeks are going to be hard, but so so so worth it!!

This week has been CRAZY!!!!

*colton's suprise party
*three Group projects due for school
*three papers due...( you think teachers would talk and make things due at different times right?)
*Work
*Getting the energy to go to school
*Spending as much time with the family as possible

I am spent! Life is so so so so Crazy! I have a love/hate relationship with just about everything right now. : ) But, what would life be like if we didn't have lots of stuff to do? I love staying busy but sometimes it is hard. I am just happy that I have family and friends that are always there for me. I have lots of pictures I need to put up.Tthey are from California, The Cabin, and Colton's party. I will try and find time this weekend or maybe next week.
Colton's party was fun. It was a suprise party for his birthday/going away. His birthday is not until the 28th but since he will be in South Africa we decided to do something before he left. Liz and Cameron are such great friends and put together a murder mystery party. We all had to dress up like a famous person. It was great. ( I won the award for best costume.) : ) My mom and dad put together the food and it was great! pictures to come soon I promise!!

well today is Tuesday......

For all you people on facebook that are wishing for the weekend ...I'm going to smack you. :) I say this with much love. : ) My brother is leaving a week from today and I really wish you would all stop wishing the week away. Tonight we watched One Tree Hill for the last time. There may be other times in 2 years but I am sure the series will end before he gets back. We will just have to find another show that WE can love! well that is it for tonight. And as for tomorrow don't wish it away. Life already goes by way to fast. : ) Love you all.

Subtitles....

There is nothing I love more than watching colton try to turn off the subtitles on the DVD Player. He gets so frustrated and then we all just end up laughing. At this moment in time we have all given up and are now watching One Tree Hill Season 1 with subtitles! Its nights like this that I am really going to miss.

I live for the weekends!!!

I LOVE weekends. Spending time with my family has been so great! It is so weird to think that in less than a month colton will be in South Africa. We have been trying to do lots of stuff together before he leaves. This weekend we spent most of the time at snowbird! I love it up there. I am also really excited for next weekend! I love General Conference. I also love the fact that I will be spending Conference weekend at The cabin with John and Mary and the rest of the family! It is going to be so great! Like I said..... I LIVE FOR THE WEEKENDS!

I pick at my finger nail polish all the time! my fingers only stay painted for 2 or 3 days and then I pick it all off. I do it as a nerves habit and when I am bored. Good thing I love painting them all the time!

Me and my friends made up the Crazy Perfection when I was in high school. We were trying to think of a name for one of our dances and this is what we came up with. I LOVE it! I love it because it describes my life so well. My life is so crazy but I love it and I wouldn't change it for anything.. aka perfection.

The meaning behind the quote is very simple. People always underestimate me because of my "shortness" or my lack of muscle. The truth is I can do anything that anyone else can do. My mom is the one that has always told me I can do anything I set my mind to! She is so right!: )

Well first of all, I Suck really bad at this blog thing... oh well. : ) Life is busy and sometimes I really don't have time to write it all down. anyways............... I have a lot to post about so here it goes!

* As many of you already know by now my brother and sister are both going on missions. : )

Colton is going to South Africa and Katee is going to Tacoma Washington. Colton is leaving Oct. 19 and Katee is leaving Dec. 15. I am so so so so so excited for them! They are going to do great things and help tons of people. The Gospel is amazing! I am going to miss them but they will be back before I know it!

* I started school and a new job!

School is good! I love learning! It does take a lot of time but it will be well worth it....... maybe.

My new job is hard but good. I am loving the money!!

* I am sad to see summer go but I am so happy for fall! I can't wait for all the fun things that come with fall and winter!! well here are some pictures from summer! enjoy!

Dear Life, This is a long post.

well the past couple of months have been crazy!!! We have had lots and lots of crazy adventures! First off is the Vegas adventure...

It all started when Me, Amy, and Brooke wanted to go on a small Vacation to St. George. We started out on the saturday that was over Valentines day weekend. As we started our Vacation we stopped and picked up colton who was on his way home from a vacation with my Grandparents and dad. After we picked up colton we made our way to Cedar City where we spent the night at the one and only Knights Inn. As we arrived at Knights Inn we realized that we should have spent more money on a better Hotel.... ( One king sized bed with 4 people and nasty floors made for a really funny night.) Anyways, As we woke up the next morning we discovered that the resorvations in St. George for the next night were all messed up .... This was not my fault.... lol. After we talked about all the other things we could do we decided that instead of staying another night At the Knights Inn we would take a small trip to VEGAS!!! ( best place ever.) Vegas was great! We all had so much fun and it was a trip I will never forget! All I have to say is.... Thats what you get for waking up in Vegas!

Spring Break

A couple weeks ago Me, Brooke, Amy, Riley, and D Jones went to California! It was such a great Vacation. We spend most of our time At the beach. Most of us all got tans.... ( Riley's Skin is still falling off haha) I can't wait until I can go back!

Our lives have been pretty crazy with school starting again. Between school and working everyday there is no time for blogging. When we do find free time in our lives we have been spending time with friends, Going to the hot pots, watching movies, watch my mom and Brooke do workout videos ( when I say watch I mean watch), playing rockband, Going to Jazz games, and of course going to alot of church activities. Last night we planned spring break! It is going to be so much Freaking Fun!! NEWPORT here we come. I am counting down the days. I wish it was spring break already. I already need a rest from school. I can't wait to be finished. 2 more semesters! well everyone have a great week.
